St. John Lutheran Holds a Wedding Celebration

February 16, a wedding celebration was held at St John Lutheran Church, honoring couples celebrating either their first anniversary or an anniversary that is a multiple of five. 65 people helped celebrate.

Four of the honored couples were in attendance.  They were Bob and Donna Westbrook, Gary and Liz Hainke, Bill and Melanie Molzhan, and Paul and Deb Bienhoff. Treats and fellowship started the time together following church. Next, the Sunday school kids started off the program by singing three songs. Then a game of Oldie Wed was played. Couples were asked questions and had to answer by saying what they THOUGHT their spouse would say.  Needless to say, after lots of laughter, answers were given, points were added, and prizes were given to all couples for being good sports (since no one had very many points).

Poems and stories were then shared in honor of the special anniversaries. Each couple also shared a funny story of their wedding, which was as entertaining as the game!

Bob Westbrook (and wife Donna) 60 years, Gary and Liz Hainke- 10 years, Bill and Melanie Molzahn- 25 years, and Deb and Paul Bienhoff- 45 years.

Join Us!

Mat makers will meet twice in March. They’ll meet March 7th and the 28th, from 9-noon, at St. John Lutheran Church, in Kensington.  Everyone is welcome to help make plastic bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. We need hands to flatten bags, cut them, tie them together, and to crochet so there’s a task for everyone! Please join us if you can!!

Kensington Senior-Community Center

The monthly potluck at KSCC was held Thursday, February 27 with 14 in attendance. There was a wide variety of food including: casseroles, meatballs, chicken, deviled eggs, dessert and ice cream. No one left hungry. Nine stayed to play cards. There was a game of pitch and a game of Phase 10. A good time was had by all.

We would like to extend an invitation to all to join us at the Center. There are many things to do. We have coffee Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30am. Activities in the afternoons, including cards and dominoes. There is a pool table, ping pong table, and always a chance to play other games or start a jigsaw puzzle. We have also added BINGO and would welcome other games.

Our March potluck is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00pm. Hope to see you there. Dominoes on Tuesday the 10th at 2:00pm and Hand and Foot on Thursday the 12th at 1:00pm.
