Annual Ice Cream Social Cancelled

The Kensington Community/School Library is known for hosting an ice cream social event and used book sale each summer. We are sad to inform you that due to Covid 19 we will not be hosting the event this year. We do have a few tables of used books available for free will donations. Our apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause, but the safety of our patrons and library staff must come first.

KAYS Helps Save Lives

TR KAYS would like to thank everyone who donated blood at the July 23 blood drive. It was a full day and many donations were given, both regular donations and double reds. Thank you to St. John Lutheran Church as well for letting us host it in their parish hall.

Pastor Lorna donates blood.

Adam Synoground donates double reds this time.

UPDATE.......

It was decided at the Commerical Club meeting tonight that the 2020 Old Fashioned Saturday Night on Aug 15 be CANCELED due to COVID concerns. We are saddened but also want everyone to stay safe. We hope to be able to have a bigger and better event next year. Themes will remain the same - so save those ideas!!!

Letters will be sent to sponsors giving options about your donations.

Commercial Club has many future events in the works and hopes to be able to hold them this year!!

We appreciate all your support and pride in the Kensington Community

SAL Raffle

SAL Post 166 is having a raffle to help with scholarship funds and will be raffling off a wood and metal American flag with second prize being a $100 certificate to the Kensington locker. This will coincide with the Old Fashioned Saturday night celebration in Kensington, Kansas on August 15. (CORRECTION.... due to the cancellation of OFSN, a new time and date for the drawing has not been established at the time of publication of this weeks news. Please look for the new date and time in next weeks edition.) Please let any SAL member know if you have any questions or would like to purchase tickets. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. The flag will likely be set up for viewing at many local businesses around the community. Thank you and hope to see you there!
