News for 3/13/10 - STATE BASKETBALL

Lady Longhorns named 3rd in the State!

The 2019 Girls Class 1A State Basketball Tournament took place last week in Dodge City, Kansas. The Lady Longhorns worked and fought hard, earning their way up the bracket into state semifinals with a 56-45 win over South Central Wednesday night, March 6. This led them to face the undefeated Central Plains Friday night, March 8. A tough loss to the Central Plains team placed the Lady Longhorns into play for 3rd/4th on Saturday, March 9. This was consecutive win number 111 for a very talented Central Plains team, so the Lady Longhorns had nothing to feel bad about. It was a 3rd place finish for the ladies as they beat Waverly 54-44 on Saturday. Congrats to the Lady Longhorns on your 3rd in the state title. Your families, your school, and your communities are very proud of you!

This was also an emotional success and inspiring accomplishment for player Raegan Boden, who was healthy and able to compete alongside her teammates this year after being diagnosed with brain cancer just over a year ago. Last year for tournament play in Hays, Raegan was still recovering from brain surgery as she sat on the sidelines in support of her team. She has come a long way this year and it has been a blessing for her family and community to watch her play in the state tournament her senior year and claim 3rd in the state with her team. #RaeganStrong

Weekly Inspiration

Someday everything will make perfect sense. So, for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

Remember most of your stress comes from the way you respond, not the way life is. Adjust your attitude, and all that extra stress is gone.

Remember, two things define who you are: 1. Your patience when you have nothing. 2. Your attitude when you have everything.
