TRHS Graduation
Class of 2018 Class motto: “Our lives are before us, our past is behind us, and our memories are forever within us.” Class flower: White Lily and class colors: Royal Blue and Silver.
Congrats to the graduating class of 2018; Your future holds endless possibilities!
The Thunder Ridge Senior High Commencement Ceremony took place Sunday afternoon, May 6th at 3:00pm in the Thunder Ridge High School gymnasium. Twelve students graduated but only 11 were present to walk the stage and receive their congratulations: Justis Bapat, Brayden Brenneman, Cassidy Gillespie, Kelli Glennemeier, Seth Loyd, Lillie Massey, Bruce Massey, Tyler McReynolds, Kennedy Rietzke, Brock Wallgren, and Morgan Westbrook. Foreign exchange student Javier “Kiko” Moreno Ortega, who had been residing with the Hendryx family, had already made his voyage back home to Spain.
Mrs, Kristi Reneberg played the processional and Pastor Dave Hutson delivered the invocation. Principal and Superintendent Mr. Jeff Yoxall introduced the Salutatorian, Kennedy Rietzke, and Valedictorian, Morgan Westbrook, who each gave their speech. A multimedia presentation was played while the Class of 2018 gave white lily flowers and recognition to their parents. Mr. Yoxall then presented the graduating class. Diplomas were handed by board member Mr. Darin McDowell and tassel moved by Mr. Yoxall as Mr. Weins announced each student. Class sponsors Brooke McDowell and Sarah Molzahn then conducted the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. Benediction was given by Pastor Dave Hutson and the recessional played.
KHS & TRHS Alumni
Honoring years ending in 8 and 3, the annual Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, May 26th at the American Legion in Kensington. Hopefully you have received your official invitation in the mail. You can also find information on the alumni Facebook page: Kensington Alumni.
Honoring 60 years, the Class of 1958 included: Nelda Anthony, Linda Beach, Darold Grauerholz, Joe Lentz, Joyce Mann, Lucinda Migalski, Janice Ratliff, James Schalansky, Margaret Smith, Robert Stockton, Juneil Thomm.

American Legion
Serving the Friday Night Special from 6:00-8:30pm, May 11th:
The special at the American Legion this week is our Santa Fe Salad. It's a mesquite grilled chicken breast on top if a bed of tortilla chips, lettuce, tomato and cheese. It comes with the dressing of your choice or salsa. We'd love to reserve a table for you and your family /friends just call us at 785.476.3204. We can also make to go orders for you to pick up.
Swim Team/Swimming Lessons

Kensington Library News
With school letting out for the summer break on Tuesday the 8th, we have switched to our summer hours as of Wednesday the 9th. Summer hours are: Monday 2-8pm; Tuesday through Saturday 9am-2pm. Our reading program theme this summer is Libraries Rock! Grades pre-K to 2nd grade will come on Tuesdays from 1-2pm and grades 3rd to 5th on Thursdays from 1-2pm. Grades are according to the 17-18 school year. These programs will begin the first week in June. Contact Erica at the library anytime at 785-476-2219.
