KCS Fundraiser
Thanks to all who came to show your support for our community owned grocery store on Sunday. We couldn’t have done it without the aid from wonderful sponsors including Prairie Land Electric Cooperative, Inc., Thrivent, those who made desserts, and all the amazing volunteers. We served 166 people, plus 15 KCS board, employees and volunteer workers for a total of 181 in attendance.
For those of you who don’t know, KCS reached a 20 year milestone this year. The Kensington City Council first designated the site for a new grocery store in April of 2004. A Kensington Community Grocery Store Committee includes: Jeff Nech, John Struckhoff, Warren Barnell, Barbara Grauerholz, Rob Bogart, Rob Reitz, and Cindy Rahjes. The committee led meeting, presented options and information. and also raised funds for the new store project. February 25, 2005 was the First Delivery truck and Opening Day was April 30, 2005.
Thank you for 20 years and let’s keep going strong! Please shop local and help keep our doors open. This town needs this store.

Jeff Nech, Mat and son Taylor Hohner grilled all the burger, brats and dogs.
