School Starts Thursday!

Teachers are looking forward to the students returning to school this Thursday, August 14, 2025. This year’s schedule looks a little different with all 3 buildings having early dismissal every Friday at 2:30pm. The first day of Pre-K and Fall Sports practice is Monday the 18th. 5th grade Band Display is Thursday the 21st from 5-6:30pm. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Back to School Bash on Sunday, August 24 from 11am-1pm at the Kensington American Legion. 

USD 110 is still looking to fill a few positions! Apply online at www.usd110.net.


Kensington Library

We were excited to see everyone who came out to shop used books and enjoy the ice cream at our social event last Monday night. Your attendance and donations are truly appreciated. Please be sure to view our new StoryWalk! Walk around the library and read the fun, back to school story: “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books!”


Dice Run Fun!!

Come join the fun. Golf cart/ATV dice run happening Friday night, August 15th, in Kensington.  Registration is 6:30PM at the pool park. Proceeds will go to the downtown beautification projects.  Games at each stop to earn more points!


OFSN is Out of This World!

Kensington Commercial Club's Annual Old Fashioned Saturday Night is THIS Saturday August 16th.  The 2025 Theme “Out of This World” says it all!

EVENTS begin at 9:00 a.m. - Pasture Golf - $20/ 2 person team. Contact Jeff at 785-476-5185 to register.

9:00 a.m. - "Make & Take Crafts" Bread Boards with Kristen Minkler of "The Broken Board" at the legion - $15 each + $15 for each insert. Must Pre-Register by Aug 10th.

1:00 p.m. - Yard Games set up for youth (independent play) *** Kids 8 and under must be supervised

1:00 p.m. - Yard Olympics - Cornhole, Ladder Golf & Polish Horseshoes - $20/ 2 person team - Register via Facebook or Contact Jordan Dettmer. Must be in 9th grade or older to participate

5:00 p.m. - SALs Beer Garden Opens

Plenty more going on following the Kiddie Parade at 6:30 p.m.

7:00 p.m. - Little Girl Dance Camp, MS & HS Cheer & Dance Performances - Egg Toss Contest

8:30 p.m. - Foam Party For Kids: Kids will get wet! Dress appropriately! Sponsored by Smith County Health Dept.

9:00 p.m. - Street Dance Manda Lynn & the Lost Boys performing 


Visiting from States Away

Carolyn, Greg & Robin Billings have had guests from N.C. & N.Y. These guests would be Carolyn’s daughter, Debbie & Ed Murdoch, from Hendersonville, N.C. and also Carolyn's grandson & family:  Ian & Natalie Murdoch & two boys, Oliver & Daimen, from N.Y., who live close by the Hudson River.   They were here for four days & loved learning about the farm, animals, & machinery.  We had several family gatherings at Greg & Robin's house.  It was enjoyed by all!!
