School is Back in Session!

Teachers report Monday, August 10 and the first day of school is Wednesday, August 12, 2026. This year a 4 day/week calendar will be implemented running Monday through Thursday. However, the following Fridays we will have school: August 14 and September 11, 2026. NO school on Labor Day, September 7. The school day hours are now 8:00am to 4:00pm.

District Fees can be paid at any building. Make checks payable to USD 110. Lunch fees must be paid by a separate check from any District Fees, please and thank you. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ OVER OUR HANDBOOK.


Celebrating the Biggest Little Town of it’s Size!

Join us in Kensington for an Old Fashioned Saturday Night on August 15, 2026.  The theme this year is “Party in the USA.” Let’s party like it’s 1776! 

Activities begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday with Pasture Golf. Contact Jeff at 785-476-5185 to register. "Uncle Sam Sweet Sparkler Cookie Decorating Class" from 9:30 to 11:30 AM is to be held in the American Legion Hall. Spots still available! Must Pre-Register Online. 

Yard Olympics begin at 1:00 pm. Cornhole, Ladder Golf, & Polish Horseshoes at $20 per 2 person team. Register via Facebook or contact Jordan Dettmer. Must be in 9th grade or older to participate. Prizes Given! 

5:00 pm the SALs Beer Garden Opens. EVENING ENTERTAINMENT includes: "The Traveling Tee Box" inflatable golf simulator (FREE) from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Kiddie Parade begins at 6:30 p.m.  (6:15 registration at City Office)  This year's theme “Party in the USA.”

7:00 p.m. is the Little Girl Dance Camp, MS & HS Cheer & Dance Performances, Traditional Egg Toss Contest with Street Dance to follow with music by "Manda Lynn & the Lost Boys."

Food booths include: Taco Riendo (lunch & evening), RC Rub Grub - BBQ, Hunter Family Food Stand, Lion's Club Hamburgers, Buck's Snow Shack, Triple C Lemonade, Snowy Peaks & Cozy Eats.  ACTIVITY/Vendor booths: Nex Tech Train - FREE, Face Painting - FREE, Football Dunk Tank, Scouts - Beef Sticks, TRMS Cheer - Dirty Sodas,

United Church - Homemade Ice Cream & Dime Toss.

Kensington is the place to be Saturday, August 15!


Kensington Library Used Books Sale

Gently Used and Deleted Books SALE going on now. Extended through Saturday, August 8! Library hours are Mondays 2-7pm and Tue.-Sat. 9am to 7pm. When school resumes August 12, we will be open 8am to 4pm when school is in session. Stop in and support our library by making a donation and shopping the book sale. It’s been a great summer and we appreciate your patronage.


American Legion in Kensington

POST 166 in Kensington with an IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Starting SATURDAY, AUGUST 22, we will be serving on Saturday night instead of Fridays. SAME TIME: 6:00PM - 8:00 PM. Same menu plus Weekly Specials & Chris’ specialty burgers! * MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Friday nights become Saturday nights on August 22. Great food and fellowship while SUPPORTING A GREAT VETERANS ORGANIZATION!


Condolences 

Extending many prayers and sympathy to the family and friends of Trent Hesterman, age 38, of Kensington, KS. He went to be with Jesus on July 23, 2026.  Gone too soon, but will never be forgotten.

Sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Pastor Robert “Bob” Sinclair. Former Pastor of the St. John Lutheran Church, Athol, Bob was united with his heavenly father on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He passed at the age of 72, in Nampa, Idaho.
