AKA Visits Children’s Hospital in Texas

Over Labor Day weekend, AKA - A Kind Act, paid a special visit to the Hendrick Children's Hospital in Abilene Texas. JR and Gracie Rice helped make this special delivery in memory of Angel Rice. Angel was part of forming the non-profit AKA from Kansas City with her best friend Alycee Valdivia.

Alycee, JR and Gracie, along with Superman and other friends, traveled hundreds of miles to hand deliver approximately 1,600 toys to Hendrick Children's Hospital. Donations like these can help ease the emotional burden of hospital stays for children and their families.  Thank you AKA, Alycee, and friends for brightening the lives of so many children.

Friday Night at the Legion

Every Friday we serve a special for $11, dessert for $3, and a salad or soup of the night.

Open from 6-8pm, we offer dine-in or carry-out meals.  Our kitchen operates mostly off of volunteer help and one paid waitress, so some nights we may not have enough helping hands. Also, many times we have a packed house! So please be patient with us as we serve you. You can always call in at 476-3204, and wait times may vary.

Kensington Library

With USD 110 back in session, we are now open Monday 8am-7pm, Tuesday through Thursday 8am-4pm, and Friday will be 8am-3pm with the 2:30 early dismissal. Saturday is 9am-2pm as usual.

Reminder that we offer digital resources such as Hoopla, LibbyApp and also CloudLibrary, which is through the State of Kansas. All you need for Hoopla and Libby is your Kensington account number, so come see us and we can get you set up!
