HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!



The Busy Bees 4-H club held their annual Christmas party and business meeting on Sunday, December 9. Twenty members, plus parents and siblings, were in attendance. A community service project chosen by the club was to provide Christmas presents for the elderly residents of the SunPorch of Smith County nursing home. The club members each shopped for and personally wrapped presents for 24 residents. Host families for the Christmas Party were Rust’s and Meat’s. Walking tacos and various potluck sides were enjoyed by all club members and parents who came.

Thunder Ridge School News

Thunder Ridge Middle School has received a grant through the Phillips County Community Foundation and Dane G. Hansen Foundation to purchase guitars and ukuleles for the 7th and 8th grade music class. Annie Adams will be responsible for teaching students how to play these new instruments. The students will perform in their Spring concert on May 2, 2019.

Join us every Friday night! Serving from 6:00-8:30pm on January 4: We hope everyone had a good new year. This week our special is bierock casserole, homemade macaroni and cheese, and broccoli casserole. The soup special will be German green bean dumpling served with a grilled cheese. For dessert we're having banana pudding poke cake. We'd love to put tables together for your friends that you didn't see during the Christmas break or to make your supper to go by calling 785-476-3204. Thank you for your support for 2018!

Holiday Hours at the Library

Winter Break is Snow much fun! The Kensington Library will provide limited hours during the USD 110 holiday break. Open hours are 9:00am to 2:00pm for Wednesday 2, Thursday 3, Friday 4, and Saturday the 5th. School and regular library hours to resume Monday, January 7.

Wolf Family Christmas

Sunday, December 23, 2018, Ron and Marlene Wolf of Kensington were blessed to have 2 children, their spouses, and all 8 grandchildren home for Christmas. Great food and conversation was enjoyed by all and of course the children were thrilled to unwrap the presents. Their son Matthew Wolf, of Concordia, also made it home to visit on Christmas Day.
