Thunder Ridge Grads Play Once More

Elizabeth Hardacre was selected as one of 24 graduating senior volleyball players in the state to play in the 2019 Kansas Volleyball Association All Star Match in Topeka on Saturday, June 1.

Layne Pettijohn and Brandon Grauerholz represented the Thunder Ridge Longhorns in the State Line All-Star basketball games on Saturday, June 1, in Red Cloud Nebraska. Darren Grauerholz was coach for the girls team. Elizabeth Hardacre was chosen to play as well but also chosen to play at the KVA Volleyball All Star games at Topeka.

Elizabeth Hardacre and Layne Pettijohn played together one last time on Friday night, June 7, at Red Cloud High School when the Kansas meets Nebraska in the State Line Volleyball All-Star Game. Bruce Hardacre was head coach for the NPL All-Stars.

Landon Gering and Brandon Grauerholz played in the 8-man All-Star game, winning for Division II, West on Saturday, June 8.

Landon Gering plans to attend K-State University in the fall, majoring in Computer Science.

Brandon Grauerholz plans to attend Sterling College in the fall on a football scholarship. Elizabeth Hardacre will attend Kansas Wesleyan on a volleyball scholarship and Layne Pettijohn will also attend Kansas Wesleyan on a basketball scholarship.

The Thunder Ridge communities are proud of these young athletes and wish them the very best in their future endeavors.

Stingrays Results at Swim Meet

The Stingrays attended a meet in Phillipsburg on Saturday, June 8. Leah Bienhoff took 1st in long freestyle, freestyle and short freestyle. KensLy Blank took 1st in butterfly. Cameron Cochrun took 2nd in freestyle and backstroke and 6th in short freestyle. Breckyn McDowell took 4th in breaststroke . Gideon Nelson 2nd backstroke, 1st breaststroke and 4th short free. Lexi Rust 3rd short freestyle. Peyton Chestnut 3rd short freestyle. Evan Slavik 3rd short freestyle. Caden Meyer 5 short freestyle. Girls freestyle relay of Hannah, KensLy, Peyton, and Lexi got 4th. Boys Freestyle relay of Gideon, Cameron, Caden and Evan got 1st. Way to swim Stingrays!

Kensington American Legion

This week at the legion we will be featuring one of our regular menu items the pony shoe. It's an open bun with a hamburger patty and topped with French fries and queso. It will be $1.00 off the normal price. Our salad will be creamy cucumbers and we'll have cherry chocolate cake. Please call us at 785-476-3204 for to go orders.

Dear Parents: Please plan for your child or children to attend our Summer Reading Programs at the Kensington Community/School Library. We will be exploring outer space and things out-of-this-world with “A Universe of Stories!” every Tuesday and Thursday in the month of June and the first two weeks in July from 12:30-1:30pm. Stop by the library to sign your children up and get a copy of the calendar for our reading program this summer. It’s not too late to call the library at 785-476-2219 and sign your child up!

Summer Hours: Mondays from 2-8pm, Tuesday through Saturday 9am-2pm.
