Murder Mystery Masquerade

Think you can solve the crime? Kensington Commercial Club invites you to our Murder Mystery Masquerade: tickets on sale now! Get ready for a night of mystery, glamour, and a little bit of danger! Saturday, February 14, at the Kensington American Legion. 6:00 PM cocktails, 7:00 PM dinner & show to follow. $50 per person for dinner plus the show.

Dress to impress (if you choose) and join us for an evening of intrigue, clues, and suspense. It’s the perfect Valentine’s weekend outing — or just a fun chance to step into a world of secrets and style. Must RSVP & prepay by February 5.

American Legion in Kensington

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and thank you for your patronage throughout 2025. OPEN Friday nights, serving from 6-8pm. Orders can be called in at 785-476-3204.


Kensington Library

Normal hours resumed Monday, January 5. Monthly board meetings are held the first Monday of each month, unless otherwise posted. If you are looking for a way to give back to the community and help our library, we will be looking for a couple new board members to join us in April. Please contact Erica Barnes, Director, if you are interested.


Condolences

Sympathy for the family and friends of Ron “Sid” Sidman. Ron passed away December 21, 2025 in Smith Center, KS at the age of 68. Many knew him as “The Cowboy Poet.” He loved to tell stories and recite his poems. And while he’s now living his poem “If I Die,” his famous words will live on: “Win a few; lose a lot. This is a lesson not to be forgot.”

Bobbie “Bob” Lee Hodge, 93, of Salina, Kansas, passed away December 31, 2025. He was born September 25, 1932, near Phillipsburg, Ks. He held a long career in nursing home administration and worked at the Kensington Prairie Haven facility for many years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an active member of the American Legion Fred Marran Post #166
