Community Thanksgiving at the Kensington American Legion

Lots to be Thankful For!

We had a wonderful crowd of just over 200 people in attendance on Thanksgiving Day. A day like this would not be possible without many helping hands. We appreciate the Wednesday evening crew including: Debbie Cooper, Mary Arment, Adam Synoground, Mitch Miller, Chris Barnes, Tyler Blank, Doug Rahjes, Bill Winters, Troy Bell, Joe and Kathy McClure. Serving the delicious meal on Thanksgiving Day were: Chris and Erica Barnes, Garen Kuhlmann, Debbie Cooper, Mary and Stephanie Arment, Gina Taylor, Tyler, KensLy, and Aadyn Blank.  Beth Burns and Susan Gross helped with the sides and dessert tables. Numerous hours, many fed, big hearts and countless blessings. Thank you to all who joined us on this special day! 

Soles4Souls Project

There is still time to donate! Thunder Ridge KAY is doing a clothing and shoe drive again this year. They are collecting gently used clothing and shoes through December 5 for Soles4Souls. Drop off boxes are at all the local churches, all three school buildings, Kensington Library and the Kensington Community Store.

This organization uses the donated items to provide inventory to people in impoverished countries. All items will be shipped free of charge to Soles4Souls. Last year, the KAY group shipped off an entire pick up bed full of items. Please donate items if you can! The students enjoy helping people in their school, community, country, and world!
