Father/Daughter Dance 

TR KAYS will host the first annual Father/Daughter Dance on Sunday, April 26, from 5-7pm in the HS gym (using the prom decorations). Snacks and drinks, plus masquerade masks, will be provided. $15/couple and $5 for extra daughters. For ages Preschool-8th grade. The Mother/KAY Banquet will be Monday evening, April 27. 

Buddy Bench

As part of Thunder Ridge KAY’s “Be the Spark” grant, to promote mental and physical health, the club had the entrepreneur class engrave a sign with the words BUDDY BENCH on it. The sign was then placed  on one of the benches at the elementary school playground. Kids have been told to sit on it if they feel alone and want a friend to play with. The other students will then know to come over and ask them to join them, promoting mental health and teaching friendship skills.

Other parts of the project were purchasing pool items for the swimming pool last summer, an AED machine for the pool, and promoting teachers to incorporate “brain breaks” in the classrooms K through 12.

Morgan Brownwood and Connor Engelke work on solving puzzles as a short brain break in Mrs. Sukraw’s math class.

KAY BLOOD DRIVE

The Thunder Ridge KAYS wish to express gratitude to all who donated at our spring blood drive on Tuesday, April 21. We appreciate you taking the time to make a lifesaving blood donation.

American Legion in Kensington

Open every Friday from 6-8pm offering a special meal of the night and regular menu items. Call in at 476-3204. Thank you for the support of recent fundraising efforts. We wouldn’t be here without you!

Also, NO meal will be offered the last Saturday of this month due to a wedding reception. Congrats to the happy couple!
