The Cook, the Legend, Has Retired

That’s what the mug stated, and it’s the exact sentiment the school kids and her co-workers felt in their hearts!

Chrys Engelke, has been a cook at the West Smith County/Thunder Ridge Elementary and high school for the past 34 years. She subbed for one year and then went full time.

She always greeted the students and staff with a smile and spoiled them with delicious, home made food! Fresh bread could often be smelled in the hallways which made everyone hungry for lunch.

The school was blessed to have such an amazing, talented, caring staff member! If you see her around the community, wish her a congratulations on her retirement because the cook, the legend, has retired!

Robin Billings presents Chrys with some parting gifts to say “Thank you” for her years of service.

Mr. Hall presented Chrys with a plaque.
