Summerfest This Saturday!
Don’t say there’s nothing to do in Kensington! This Saturday, June 4, join us for Summerfest! The Paradise Foods truck will be here and the Cars will drag main from 5-8pm. The doors will open for the Dueling Pianos at 8pm for the show from 9pm to midnight at the American Legion in Kensington. This event is sponsored by the Kensington Commercial-Community Club.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School was held May 31-June 3. The theme this year was “Zoomerang.“ The children “traveled” to Australia where they discovered some of God’s truths. A special program will be held Friday morning at 11:00am at the United Church. Come see what the kids learned and practiced all week!
Kensington Pool Offers Swimming Lessons
You can sign your children up for swimming lessons using the google doc form found on the pool’s facebook page or by contacting Anne Abbott, Pool Manager, at 785-476-2277 (pool) or 785-476-8880 (Anne’s cell).
Be sure to like and follow the “Kensington Swimming Pool” on facebook for more information and important announcements.
Also, the Stingray Swim Team has started practices. Practices start at 11:15am Monday, Wednesday, Fridays. June 4th is a meet in Alma we plan to attend. June 11th is at Phillipsburg, we will host June 18th in Kensington, and go to Stockton June 25th. Qualifiers are July 9th and Championships July 16th. If your children would like to join, it’s not too late to sign up!
City-wide Garage Sales
The Kensington Commercial-Community Club will be sponsoring the City Wide Garage Sales in Kensington on Saturday, June 11, 2022. If you would like to be included, please contact Melissa Westbrook at 786-476-8166. Thank you!
Summer Reading Program @ Kensington Library
“Oceans of Possibilities” is coming to the library this summer with a SPLASH!!!
SUMMER READING PROGRAM DATES: Begins the week of June 6th with Tuesday/Thursday sessions @ 10:00am with 2 age groups: Pre-K to 1st grade on Tuesdays, and 2nd grade and up on Thursdays.
*Also, please plan to join us for a special program for ALL ages to attend on Wednesday, June 8th from 1-2pm. The Crane River Theater Company will be coming to perform their “Page to Stage: High School Musical” and we can't wait! We look forward to seeing you this summer!
Monday Wing Night
Starting in June, join us for wings on Monday nights at the American Legion in Kensington. Serving only wings and fries with nightly beer bucket specials from 7-9pm. Located at 114 S. Main St., Kensington. Come join us for some wonderful food and great fun!
