TR Homecoming Week Festivities
Thunder Ridge Homecoming is next week! Spirit Week festivities will take place September 20-24. Our TR Cheerleaders and Sapphire Dances will paint and decorate the windows around town. The Dress-up schedule consists of: Monday- Hat/Camo Day, Tuesday- Twin/Outta this Planet Day, Wednesday- Beach/Tacky Tourist Day, Thursday- Decade/Dress Like a Baby Day, Friday- School Spirit/Blue & Silver Day. Thursday night, Sept 23, at 8:00pm will be the traditional Bonfire and pep rally hosted by the cheerleaders and Student Council will provide games. Friday afternoon, Sept 24, the middle school students will be bussed over to Kensington to attend the all school Pep Rally and Homecoming Parade on Main Street starting at 2:30pm. The community is also welcome to attend. Following the pep rally everyone will head over to the football field for a fun game of Powderpuff Football hosted by the KAYS.
The Crowning Ceremony will be held at 6:30pm prior to the home football game vs Lakeside Friday night, Sept 24. The 2021 Homecoming Candidates are: Olin Brown, Daxton Dunlap, and Paul Ferguson, Mariana Escobar, Saige Kirchhoff, and Susana Jovel.
TR Music Booster Tailgate
Friday night, September 17, the Thunder Ridge Music Booster Club will hold a tailgate for the first home football game of the season. Find us at the Longhorn stadium before the game against St. Johns-Tipton. We will begin serving food at 6:00pm and accepting FREE WILL donations to benefit the K-12 Thunder Ridge Music Department.

New Addition to TRES!
The kids were so excited for a surprise to be found at Thunder Ridge Elementary school. Miss Murphy has added a classroom pet for the students to enjoy. Meet Tootsie!
Kensington Lions Tree Project
The Kensington Lions Club is offering a service project for the community involving planting trees. If you are interested in receiving a tree from Lions Club please contact Mike Isom at 785-476-5583. Types of trees available are burr oak, sawtooth oak, and redbud. Individuals may sign up to receive up to three trees per individual or family. Lions club members and school students will plant the trees in the fall.
Kensington Library News
The library has now switched to our school year schedule. Mondays we are open late, from 8am to 7pm; Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 4pm; and Saturdays remain 9am to 2pm. Any special closing or holiday hours will be posted accordingly. Our library board meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30pm unless otherwise posted.
