News for 4/29/2020
In honor of the Thunder Ridge Class of 2020, Student Council will be turning on the lights at the football field at 8:20pm (20:20 military time) on Sunday, May 3, 2020 for 20 minutes. Although they may not be able to have graduation on this day, our thoughts are with the graduating class and we congratulate them on their accomplishment.
TRHS still plans to honor the Class of 2020 with some form of graduation in the future. Information will be released when available.
Quarantined Hands Stay Busy!!
Even though Mat Makers have not been able to meet face to face, members of this group have been working in their homes to impact others in a positive way. Bags have continued to be donated, folded, cut into strips, tied together, and crocheted into sleeping mats for the homeless!
In the past month, 11 mats have been completed and are waiting at St. John Lutheran Church. When the “stay at home” order is lifted, they will be ready for delivery to the homeless.
New volunteers have joined in the process of making mats during this pandemic. If you’d like to know more about how you can help, contact Robin Billings. Single flat mat: Mats are generally 3’x 6’.
Rolled mat: Mats have a handle and ties to make carrying them easier. Sometimes they’re folded in half before rolling them up to make them more compact while carrying.
Group of mats: 11 mats ready for delivery!
