Smith Co. Fair

Be sure to visit the Smith Co. Free Fair from Thursday, July 20 through Monday, July 24 to see projects and exhibits from our local youth of the Busy Bees 4-H Club and others clubs too. These kiddos put in numerous hours and many months of hard work and are proud to share their works with us.


Kensington Library News

Currently going on at the library, we have a used book sale asking for free will donations. Come fill up a bag or a box of gently used and deleted library books. Be sure to mark your calendars for Monday evening, August 7, from 6 to 7 PM will be our annual ice cream social event. This will also be the last day of the Used Book Sale, so plan to join us for homemade ice cream and get some books.

Next meeting of the Ecumenical Book Club will be October 14, 2023! Titles include: Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger, White Oleander by Janet Fitch, The Summer Kitchen by Lisa Wingate, The Rector by Michael Hicks Thompson, Double Indemnity by Robert Whitlow.

Library hours include Mondays from 2 to 7 PM; Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM; Wednesday/Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM.


Legion this Friday

This week at the Kensington American Legion we will have our shrimp basket with dessert as our special. We will have our regular menu items as well and our kitchen is open from 6-8. You can call 785-476-3204 to have your order ready for pick up. Hope to see you Friday!


Card Shower

The children of Ron and Marlene Wolf, of rural Kensington, are requesting a card shower to celebrate their parents upcoming 40th Wedding Anniversary on August 13th.

Cards and well wishes can be sent to Mr. & Mrs. Wolf at: 8042 B Rd, Kensington KS 66951.


Condolences

Sympathies and prayers for the family and friends of Zach Lamont, age 36, of Claudell/Cedar, Kansas. Zach was the son of Curtis and Missy Lamont.
