Kennedy Rietzke, daughter of Ryan and Tiffany Rietzke, and Seth Loyd, son of Lacie Loyd, werecrowned Queen and King at the Friday night Homecoming Ceremony on October 6th. Crown Bearers were Breckyn McDowell, daughter of Darin and Brooke, and Isaac Wagenblast, son of Jarek and Julie. The Homecoming football game vs the Stockton Tigers was first delayed, then postponed, due to weather and resumed Saturday afternoon. The Longhorns reigned victorious, 30-20 over Stockton with a TR WIN. Congratulations to King Seth and Queen Kennedy!

Upcoming Games

  • MS: Thursday 12th- travel to play @ Osborne; volleyball at 4:00pm, football 6:00pm.

Monday 16th- PTL MS Volleyball Tournament @ Beloit starting at 11:00am.

  • HS Volleyball: Saturday 14th- NPL HS VB Tournament @ Beloit.

Tuesday 17th- Tri @ Natoma vs Natoma and Chase starting at 4:00pm.

Saturday 21st Sub State Volleyball begins.

  • HS Football: Friday the 13th- travel to face Lakeside @ Downs. Next Friday, Oct. 20th, the Longhorns play at home vs Sylvan-Lucas. The following week will be a Thursday night game, Oct. 26th vs Northern Valley @ Almena. Games start at 7:00pm.

K-3rd field trip to Hunter’s Pumpkin Patch on Friday the 13th; buses leave at 12:10pm. No school on Friday 20th; Teacher Inservice.

Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday, October 23 from 4-8:30pm.

No school on Friday 27th; Parent/Teacher Conference Exchange Day.

Kensington Library News

We plan to hold another Brainy Babies program on Monday, October 16th from 5:15-6:15pm. This is a special, interactive program for parents and children ages birth to 3 years. Nora Rhoades from the K-State REsearch and Extension office will join us again for more laid back learning and fun. Please contact Erica at the Kensington Library to RSVP by Friday October 13th. 102nd Birthday for Lucille Schalansky

Lucille Sweat Schalansky will celebrate her 102nd Birthday on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She has requested that we not have a party but I am sure she would enjoy hearing from you. Lucille continues to enjoy good health and is always ready for a good game of pitch or a good book. Lucille was raised in the Cedar area and after marriage to Albert Schalansky they farmed south of Claudell. Lucille's address is 3124 SW Landsdown, #41, Topeka, Ks 66614.

Annual Claudell Church Gathering

Save the date for the Annual Gathering of the St. Francis Church in Claudell. It will be Saturday October 21, 2017 with a 4:00pm Mass at the church followed by a potluck meal at the Gaylord Community Center. Plan to attend and tell your friends and families.

October Is Pastor Appreciation Month

For Pastor Appreciation month, the United Church of Kensington plans to hold a potluck dinner following church service on Sunday, Oct. 29th. Please plan to join us and bring your favorite potluck dish.
