Did you know? The first edition of the Kensington High School annual/yearbook was printed in 1914.

Keeping Up the Tradition

Kensington Lockers brought home 6 top awards from the Kansas Meat Producers Association Convention & Trade Show in Manhattan, KS over the weekend. Grand Champion in Bone In Ham, Grand Champion in Boneless Ham, Reserve Grand Champion in snack sticks, Champion in jalapeño & cheese polish sausage, Champion in bacon, and Overall Best in Show awarded after compared to 97 products from other producers.

CONGRATS to owners Dylan and Deidra Tweedy and their crew for a fantastic job against tough competition from all over the state. They plan to attend the national convention at Kansas City in July.

City Wide Clean-up Sat. April 21

City Wide Clean-up to be held on Saturday, April 21st. This clean-up is intended for items the trash service cannot pick up on the regular route. Have items to the curb by 7:00am. Collecting appliances, household waste, bulky items, and limited tires. Please be sure to separate metal, batteries, paint, chemicals, and electronics. Reminder this is a Volunteer effort! Volunteers are needed, please meet at the City Office at 9:00am and bring small tools for clean-up and repairs around town. Call the City Office at 476-2668 if you need assistance or have questions.

Spring Bell Choir Concert

The bell and chime choirs of the Phillipsburg United Methodist Church, St. John Lutheran Church of Kensington, Logan United Methodist Church, Norton United Methodist Church and the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Stuttgart will be presenting a Spring Concert on Sunday, April 15th at 7:00pm at the Huck Boyd Center. The choirs will perform individually and as a group. The concert is free for the public to enjoy.

American Legion

Friday Night Special -serving 6:00-8:30pm- April 13th:

This week at the Kensington American Legion they will be serving chicken & dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, with green beans. The dessert will be apple pie with ice cream. Please call us and we'll reserve a table for you and your family/friends or we would be more than happy to fix a to-go order for you! 785-476-3204

We'd also like to remind everyone that we can offer you a place for those bridal showers, baby showers, graduation party, and family reunions. We can set the bar area up any way you need to make it quaint and comfortable. It's less expensive to rent for smaller crowds. Time is valuable so let's us help you decorate and do the cooking for you. Ample parking available. Give us a call so we can get it on our calendar!

Kensington Library News

Nora Rhoades from Post Rock Extension will provide another great Brainy Babies program on Monday evening, April 16th, starting at 5:15pm. Brainy Babies is for parents and children ages birth to 3 years. Please call the library to RSVP at 785-476-2219. Also, mark your calendars for the upcoming BOGO Book Fair, April 23-27. We will hold a Family Night on Monday, April 23rd serving Root Beer Floats to kick-off summer reading. Come enjoy a sweet treat and stock up on great books at buy-one-get-one-free prices!
