Ktown Kates Met

The January 2020 meeting of the Ktown Kates met at the United Church of Kensington, Monday the 13th. Carmen Rice and Janet Hoverson served delicious refreshments to start the meeting. The 2020 program books made by Deb Levin were given to members.

Thirteen members answered the roll call by naming a Kansas Landmark. The November and December 2019 minutes were read by Deb Bienhoff and approved.

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Donna Johnson. Loretta Struik moved and Wanda Fink seconded to present Barbara Grauerholz with a $35.00 stipend to help offset the cost of gifts for the Christmas party. Motion passed. Dues were discussed and the consensus was to assign dues when and if necessary.

Georgetta Kinyon distributed the 2019 Kensington Food Pantry report. A brief discussion followed. Members enjoyed playing games led by President Donna Westbrook. First, listing the top 3 most popular things in different categories; next, guessing products from their advertising jingles.

Old Business was a discussion of the Christmas party. All agreed that the food was delicious and the location was great.

The next meeting will be February 10, 2020. The program will be Valentine Bingo with each attending member brining 3 -$1 gifts for prizes.

Doris Wiens and Janet Hoverson presented a program highlighting their tour with Prudent Tours, located in Hillsboro, Kansas. They showed interesting pictures they took with explanations via the television mainly from 2 of their destinations: the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky and the life size replica of Noah’s Ark at Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Meeting adjourned.
