The Home Foundation of Kensington awarded six, $500 grants to six non-profits in Kensington on December 20,2018. Chairman Mike Isom said “We were able to give six grants for the fall grant period because of the generosity of Ron Rahjes, who is a board member of CoBank of Denver. As a board member, Rahjes was able to distribute funds to entities in their area. Rahjes presented a $5000 donation to be used as the Home Foundation deems.”

The $500 grants were awarded to the West Smith County Recreation Commission for upgrades to the press box at the football field, to the Spirit Task Force for new weatherproof benches for downtown Kensington, and the city of Kensington for improvements at the city park. Also receiving the $500 grant, was The American Auxiliary for upgrades to the kitchen, and two student groups at Thunder Ridge High School for projects to help the community.

The Home Foundation was established in 1997. Its purpose is to encourage the citizens of Kensington and the surrounding area to make donations to this organization has more grants can be given.
