KCS 1st Qtr Fundraiser
The Kensington Community Store is holding a 1st quarter fundraiser meal on Sunday, January 26, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the American Legion in Kensington. Serving Chili, Chicken n Noodle, and Wisconsin Cheese soups along with relishes and dessert. Your support is important and we hope you can join us.
Also, we currently have a Silent Auction running for a Blackstone Griddle. Bids can be dropped of at KCS, given to a Board member, or handed in the day of our Fundraiser, this Sunday January 26, 2020. The new owner will be announced at the end of the fundraiser.
HOME Foundation
The annual meeting of the Kensington HOME Foundation will be at 4:00 p.m., January 26th, at First St. John Lutheran Church in the parish hall. All members of the community are welcome to attend this meeting and get involved with this community organization.
The HOME Foundation was founded in 1997 with the goal of supporting community organizations. The foundation currently has approximately $25,000 endowed in the greater Salina Community Foundation. Generous donations along with interest off the endowment have enabled 26 grants totaling $12,000 since 2015. The Foundation is seeking input on fundraising opportunities; all feedback is welcome.
Super Bowl Party
Join us February 2 at 4:00pm for a Super Bowl Party at the American Legion in Kensington. Bring finger foods to share and join us for a fun evening. Cheer on the Chiefs! Or the 49ers if you must.
Valentine’s Supper
The Kensington American Legion is taking reservations for a special Valentine’s Supper on February 15 from 6 to 7:30pm. Serving grilled steak, 3 shrimp, baked potato, salad, bread, dessert, and choice of wine, coffee, tea or water. Plates are $18 for a single or $35 per couple. Thunder Ridge MS Spellers
Students pictured are the top 10 spellers from Thunder Ridge MS. They will compete in the Phillips County Spelling Bee on Jan. 30, 2020 at the Huck Boyd Center in Phillipsburg @ 9:00 a.m.

TR Elementary Gives Back
This Christmas, the students and staff at Thunder Ridge Elementary wanted to give something to the residents of Sun Porch and Smith Center Health and Rehab. Robin Billings used her Thrivent Action Dollars to purchase the items so the kids could then assemble the gifts. The kids put a small bottle of lotion in a pair of fuzzy socks and wrapped them up with a package of cocoa and a candy cane. Each gift was topped with a hand made card made by the students.
TR elementary kids made 71 care packages for sun porch and nursing home residents of Smith center.
